Wild Hearts & Minds Preschool
At Wild Hearts & Minds Preschool, we believe young children need three things: a safe, nurturing and stimulating play space that allows them to discover and explore independently and as a community with the openness to be themselves. Through Montessori inspired activities and the use of nature, our children are encouraged to practice self-exploration while learning social emotional skills.
Our goal is to harvest the connections between our Wild Hearts & Minds and the great outdoors and to foster a lifelong desire to learn by applying the latest research in physical development and child development. We take the whole-child, play-based and family unit approach to learning. By providing developmentally appropriate activities, natural materials and family inclusions, we aim to enhance the children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive skill sets.
Inspired by the Waldorfs philosophy we believe that children should decide their own learning pace through development of growth mind set, artistic and practical skills. We believe this should be done through touching, smelling, feeling and observing. It is crucial for brain development. And, we believe that every child should be given the time and space to grow and learn at her or his own pace.
